This hybrid event will feature Kate Reed discussing women’s labor on Mexico’s southeastern railroads and their struggles for labor rights. Wednesday, February 19, 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM ET online.
Kate Reed, historian of Mexico and PhD candidate at the University of Chicago, will explore the histories of women workers on Mexico’s southeastern railroads, highlighting their labor struggles and negotiations for rights in a male-dominated industry. This talk situates their experiences within broader discussions of gender, labor, and economic infrastructure in Latin America.
